Georgetown Last

Beyond the other side of the rainbow, more like a dystopian novel...I was so happy I got this shot as it was raining hard and had the driver stop on the way to the airport

Here was the excellent Copa Business class flight and wonderful food...also MLB airline.

Notes on St Vincent...A Place to Return

I like the Beachcomber hotel, the deluxe ocean view room, reasonable prices, the food, drinks, excellent WiFi, the people. I will keep this place in mind to revisit whenever I need to come out of the cold in NYC.

St Vincent Day 2

I woke up as the early morning calm settled over the hotel. Breakfast was the usual eggs, coffee and I just realized they forgot the bacon LOL...Back in the room, writing the blog relaxing. It is a Sunday so will take some sun and do sightseeing tomorrow.

Just a chill day with plenty of overcast skies. The enjoyment of reading on deck overlooking the water along with taking my meals on my balcony made for a great day....

St Vincent

The flight to St Vincent from Trinidad lasted about 40 minutes. I got a taxi to the Beachcomber Hotel which is a nice property. I upgraded to a room with an ocean view for $12 a night. The room is enormous, with older clean, furniture that all seems to work..

After settling in, I dropped down to the bar for a cocktail called Painkiller. I ordered fish balls which were delicious.

Disaster!!!

Suriname Airline is the pits, maybe even below Spirit. I'll walk before I book them again. First off they canceled my flight in an email from PBM -GEO. Ok, I make other arrangements to fly Caribbean Airlines from PBM-POS-GEO. It cost me $390 for the new flight. I get a phone call on May 18,at 4:45 pm while in Trinidad that my connecting Suriname flight on 5/22 from St Vincent SVD-POS (LIAT)-PBM (Suriname) was cancelled as well. No other flights were leaving until the next day (and offices are closed until Monday) which would not work since I am flying Copa to NYC on 5/26. so I am flying from SVD-POS and will spend 5/23-24 back in Trinidad which is not bad especially the Hilton executive floor. Booked another paid $191 Caribbean Flight from POS-GEO on 5/24. Then will fly home from Georgetown. Suriname says I will get reimbursed for cancel flights. I am exhausted and feel like Mark Stevens in the classic Noir movie Dark Corner.

Trinidad Hilton

I could not believe the St Lucia airport terminal had no air conditioning. Gratefully, I did not have long to wait to board a BA plane to Trinidad.  My ride was waiting for me to take me to the Hilton. I have 2 nights booked. One paid and one free night certificate. Upon arriving, they booked me into this huge executive suite with two bathrooms, two balconies, living room and fold out sofa.

O

Trinidad Walking Day

I took a cab downtown to visit some nice architecture. Trinidad is not only more of a Western city but more affluent as well.
